An interesting concept we learned at the Empower Network Don’t be a Wussy event in Denver this last weekend.
The power of the words ” I am ” is a powerful concept because what comes after is what is interesting. For example when I ask people to tell me 3 ” I ams’ ” most of the time they respond with I am an engineer, I am a bus driver, I am a lawyer.
Many people define themselves with what they do not who they are and this reflects their mindset.
For anybody that considers themselves a figure of influence, someone who people follow and look up to, and describe yourself by what you do perhaps look at it this way when asked to answer the I am question with “I am a leader”.
First you need to lead yourself before you can lead others. By having this small shift and start to see yourself as a leader first you will be able to complete tasks, goals ( personal or in business) in a more efficient manner and people that look up to you will notice the shift and they in turn will follow your lead and notice you have developed an army of leaders.
